Who am I?

What first comes to my mind when I think about this question is, that it is not as easy as it seems to define one's own identity. No matter what I might say about myself, as soon as pronounced, it would slip away and cause an unpredictable process of judgment in other people's minds. Nevertheless, in the following passage I would like to present some key points that are of importance to me and shaped my life as such.

I was born in 1991 in Saratov, which is a Russian town on the Volga river and has a population of about 840,000 people. At the age of five I emigrated to Germany with my parents and my elder brother. Since my parents have always been speaking Russian at home, I had the chance to grow up in a bilingual environment, so that I am speaking Russian and German fluently now. I went to school in Bavaria and after finishing my “Abitur“, I registered at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in Pharmacy. I have been studying there for one year, when I decided to go to Graz and study medicine. I am in my fourth year of studies now and in the next two years I hope to be able to finish my doctor's degree.

Apart from my dedication to natural sciences since school time, I have always been interested in studying foreign languages. At the age of 14 I started to teach myself Spanish and two years later Portuguese. That is why I decided to register for English, Spanish and Russian at the Department of Translation in Graz in 2012 and improve my language skills. Two years ago I decided to choose Arabic and Chinese, too.

Besides, I enjoy dancing a lot. I have been doing ballet since the age of seven. Later I did jazz dance and some more modern styles such as salsa, but unfortunately I had to reduce it for different reasons. However, dancing just makes me feel happy and relaxed and takes away the stress of the day.

I hope you have a broad overview now and maybe if you want to find out more you can check my blog which is called EvNGL!$H13.

P.S. The photo you see above is the result of a professional photo shooting I participated in five years ago.
